This is very well done! It kept my attention engaged enough that I felt like I had real guesses as to the killer, and I wanted to continue playing until I had found each passage and option. The only technical thing - it should be uploaded to itch as “executable in browser” instead of downloadable - just for ease of playing it. Great work!
I enjoyed the game’s mix of humor and intrigue. The player choices are well-structured, making each decision feel important. For instance, choosing which suspect to interview first can change the information you get later, affecting the game's outcome. The risks of choices vary; some are easy, while others lead to surprises. I liked how the game balances immediate feedback and longer-term effects. I think more choices could enhance player engagement. Overall, the lighthearted writing combined with dark themes makes for a fun experience.
The writing of the game was very strong and kept me hooked trying to find clues to the mystery. There was lots of depth on each page that filled out the world you were placed in. I think there were great details that hinted to the answer and this led me to being able to guess correctly on my first try. A quality of life thing I might suggest is perhaps changing the page if you have already interviewed that person. It might be possible for someone to get stuck trying to find the last person to interview. The game could suggest different options to interview people based on who they've talked to already, especially if they've talked to them more than once. This would all help making the immersion as the detective even deeper.
I enjoyed how the game felt like a comical take on a murder mystery. Though the content itself is dark, the writing style feels light hearted and almost silly. Those two contrasting elements makes for an amusing game play. The player choice of the aspect of it is also interesting in the way you get to choose the order of the suspects you talk to. I'm not sure if this changes any part of the path the player takes, but I that could be an interesting way to develop the game.
